Something New by Lucy Felthousegrandslam

I’m pretty new to Ellora’s Cave – at the time of writing this post, I only have one book available from them – but I have more contracted.

Not only am I a new author to EC – I’ve also had some firsts with them:

My First Series

The A Taste of… series tells the tale of Ryan Stonebridge and his friend Kristian Hurst. They’re on their gap year—a year off between college and University—and they’re doing what young men do, they’re having fun, sleeping with lots of girls and generally misbehaving. Their adventures start in London, then head on to Paris, Rome, then Amsterdam. Each city will have a separate book. I’m awaiting edits for the Paris book, so hopefully that should be available very soon. I’ve had great fun writing this series so far, it’s been a challenge as it’s part of the EC for Men range, which means I’ve had to  get inside the heads of the male characters, objectify women, use harder language, and so on. But I enjoy a challenge!

My First Co-Author Project

Towards the end of 2012, my good friend Lily Harlem (and fellow EC author – she’s prolific!) sent me the first chapter of a book. We’d discussed co-authoring and said we’d give it a go in the new year. But something popped into her head, so she wrote it down. It was well into January by the time I got chance to look at it and see if I could get on board, but when I did, I really did! After firing off a ton of questions (Lily’s co-authored before), our book, now titled Grand Slam, was coming along really fast. We took a chapter each, Lily writing from the female perspective, me from the male perspective. Within five weeks we had a completed manuscript! EC was our first choice for a publisher—and they took it! We haven’t had edits yet, so we’re not sure then the book will be released, but we’re hoping in time for the US Open, as that’s where the ending scenes of the book are set. Here’s the unofficial blurb for Grand Slam:

atasteofparisMarie Sherratt is beginning a new life in California. Her qualifications and determination have taken her to the Los Carlos Tennis Academy, where she will be the on-site psychologist for all the players, including world-famous Travis Connolly. She’s followed Travis’ career for years and also happens to think he’s seriously hot. Her first in-the-flesh glimpse of him isn’t quite what she was expecting, and from then onwards, things between her and Travis do not run smoothly, especially when it turns out the attraction is mutual.

Can Marie help Travis to regain his title as world’s number one seed? Or will their feelings get in the way?

This may well turn into a series, too, as many of the secondary characters in this book deserve for their own story to be told, so perhaps Lily and I will be working together again soon. I hope so!

As you can see, it’s been a short but very exciting journey so far. Keep an eye out for A Taste of Paris and Grand Slam in coming months, as well as a novella that’s been accepted but I haven’t received the contract for yet – so I’m not saying any more 😉

Book one of the A Taste of… seriesatasteoflondon

Ryan Stonebridge and his friend Kristian Hurst are heading off on the trip of a lifetime. They’re spending their gap year traveling the world and expect lots of sun, sights and sex. The guys have a couple of days in the English capital before catching the Eurostar to Paris. Unfortunately, a family emergency means that Kristian has to head back home for a while, leaving Ryan to continue the trip alone.

Luckily for Ryan, he’s an attractive guy and there is no shortage of gorgeous women available to help take his mind off Kristian’s family drama.
