Many people remember losing their virginity as an awkward experience filled with pain and followed quickly by regret. Online hook-up site Losing It, hopes to change that. For those who’ve made it to adulthood with their virtue intact, Losing It matches virgins with experienced lovers who will make their first time unforgettable, with no embarrassing emotional entanglements.
Losing It in Vegas is the story of twenty-one year old Rowan Cassidy who is sick of being a virgin. With no romantic prospects in sight, she turns to Losing It to find her a man willing to do the deed and leave it at that. Bruce McGovern is between lovers and stuck in a dry spell so he takes a chance with Losing It. He and Rowan meet up in Las Vegas and somewhere in the midst of all the hot sex, feelings emerge that neither of them expected.
Just imagine a service whereby you could hire an experienced lover to get you past that awkward first time. That is the idea behind Michelle Graham’s new series Losing It. I absolutely loved the concept. What an original idea! And this first book in the series more than lived up to this fascinating idea.
In Losing It in Vegas, Rowan Cassidy is determined to rid herself of her pesky virginity. She is a bigger girl who has allowed her shyness and insecurities to keep her single. She decides to treat herself for her 21st birthday to a week in Las Vegas and the services of Losing It. She is paired with Bruce McGovern, a firefighter. Bruce has signed up with Losing It to help with his dry spell. He likes the idea of introducing Rowan to the joys of lovemaking.
Since the idea behind Losing It in Vegas is the sexual relationship between Rowan and Bruce, most of the novella is dedicated to sex. That’s okay because Ms. Graham did a marvelous job of describing the slow, steamy and tender love making. Even knowing that Rowan had basically paid Bruce for sex, his gentleness and concern for her pleasure was evident in every word. I became a voyeur in their suite as Rowan experienced only the positive side of physical pleasure.
Losing It in Vegas is part of Evernight Publishing’s Romance on the Go series. These stories are very quick and are designed to be read while you’re commuting or waiting in line somewhere. But don’t let the small size fool you; Ms. Graham packed a complete story into these pages.
She was able to create characters that I truly came to care about and she did it in less than 40 pages. I found myself smiling throughout reading as I cheered for Rowan and Bruce to become more than a one night stand.
With such a great start, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
