Loved by Wolves by Diane Leyne is the third installment of the Call of the Wolf series. I have read her some of her previous works and find this one to be just as engaging and entertaining as the rest. I really like the books I have read in the Call of the Wolf series and will be reading the rest of them. I would not say that it a series for everyone especially since it involves multiple partners. Loved by Wolves is Kent, Tucker, Penelope, John, Jack and Oliver’s story. It was quite interesting and an enjoyable read.
Penelope has grown up knowing who she would spend the rest of her life with. They are her dreams and they are a part of her. The only problem with the equation is that they can’t seem to make it final. Every time they have tried there is something missing. Penelope is getting tired just trying to keep up with her men. They have all decided that if the mating ritual does not work the next time it was going to be their last try. Then Oliver comes to town and she feels an inexplicable attraction to him and she notices that he feels it too. She doesn’t want to upset her men but she finds that she does want to spend time with him. When the attraction gets too strong they kind of avoid each other, which is hard to do in this town. What is she to do when her lifelong mates are all she has ever wanted and now there is someone new? Will the mating ceremony work this time? Or will she end up with someone new?
Oliver is new to town but he decides that he likes it right away when he walks into Sunshine Café. He is drawn to Penelope, the owner of the café. The only problem with that is she is already taken. She already has mates, and four at that. Why is there an attraction between them then? He doesn’t know but he would like to find out. The only problems with that are they are now avoiding each other and he genuinely likes her mates they are nice wolves. He was raised by werewolves so he is familiar with the culture and the way things work. He also knows that he is human and could never fulfill her the way her mates can. Plus he doesn’t even know who he really is or where he comes from. When he learns his lineage he will have some choices to make. Will any of them involve her? Or will they end up parting ways?
I enjoyed Loved by Wolves just as much as I have enjoyed the rest of books I have read by Leyne. Loved by Wolves was a quick and easy read that kept me turning the pages until the very last one. I enjoyed Oliver’s back story and found it interesting. I liked his character as well. I think his willingness to let go of his feelings for Penelope showed good character and integrity. Penelope was interesting. I thought here character was ok. I didn’t relate to her on any level. I enjoyed the rest of the cast of characters as well. Loved by Wolves was a great read overall and I would recommend it to those who enjoy paranormal romances.
